At Sep 2015,I worked with my friends to redesign the website of Oatland Island Wildlife Center of Savannah.My job is user surveys ,style title and wireframing.

Website Redesign

This project is to redesign the website of Oakland Wildlife Center using a new name: Savannah zoo.Within ten weeks our team is responsible for redesigning the website from the sketch.The goals of the online web presence are focused on the rebranding and development of the Oatland Island Wildlife Center of Savannah Website through a complete process, from research to design analysis, visual design and HTML coding. We want to create a clean aesthetic and functional website to attract the target audience and provide them with a perfect user experience when they use the website.

Observation

Sketches

We visited the Oatland Island Wildlife Center and used immersion method of observation. We noticed various routines that the zoo staff follows and took pictures everything we found interesting of this wildlife center.

Website Interface

  • Confusing user interface

  • The contents of the website is not well-organized

  • Navigation and menus are overused and disconnected

  • Not too much animal information 

  • The logo can not represent the feature of the wildlife center.

Card sorting is a very useful way to restructure the data we collected.I organized all contents in a way which more close to visitor needs.Then I drew some sketches to visualize our conception.So we can get some feedback from some users.

Site Map

Base on the purpose of being a zoo’s website, we reorganized and simplified the site map. The new website will serve the purpose much better as it doesn’t have links and information that are not necessary to a general visitor, also, we added pages of animals in the zoo so visitors have the option to understand the animals before or after they go to the zoo.
